What We've Done TESTIMONIALS At first I was a little skeptical-- what was TWB all about? But I decided if I wanted to write more I had to get my name out there more and make more connections so I submitted my information. Almost immediately, TWB hooked me up with an editor of The Concrete Producer. After that initial connection, it was up to that editor and me to work out the details of the contract. TWB took what was once a long and arduous process (sometimes taking months) to a quick and painless four weeks. Inside the month I had the assignment, the deadline and a check in hand--because of that assignment, I have written for other trade magazines in the concrete industry. I just wanted to tell you I am going to be blogging for 451press. I responded to an ad you sent last week, and they offered me a family and religion blog. I am very excited, and wanted to thank you for all of your work in getting the word out about jobs for writers. You are appreciated, and a blessing. ( Last week I replied to LawSuitSearch.com -- one of the job listings you e-mailed -- and got back a confirmation that they're interested in hiring me as a freelance writer, for several stories per month. It sounds like they'll assign some sort of tryout story, of 1,750 words, and if they're still interested after that, I'll do more. I appreciate the help. I am a TWB success story with my feature on small cities hosting sporting events that ran last April in American City and County Government. With the help of TWB, I have been able to break into new markets. Darrell, I got a gig at Middlesex Beat, a Boston-area art mag, because of your listing I wrote a story about Luke Salisbury, who teaches here in Boston and wrote a novel about D.W. Griffith "Hollywood and Sunset" http://lukesalisbury.com Thanks for the tip. I look forward to the weekly FYI, and also tossing ideas around with Darrell; talking-the-talk improves my outlook and increases the fun of brain-storming new writing sources.
